BAYERN MUNICH(1)

Kroos Extends Until 2012
Bayern Munich starlet Toni Kroos has extended his contract with the Bavarian giants until 2012.

The young midfielder has made the move up to ‘professional’ status from the club’s amateur team extending his current deal by a year in the process.

The 18 year old joined Bayern in 2006 from Hansa Rostock, and rose to prominence at the U-17 World Cup in the autumn, where Germany finished third and he was voted the tournaments best player.

He also finished as the third highest scorer in the competition.

He has succeeded in making his Bundesliga debut this season under Ottmar Hitzfeld and now has four appearances to his name.

The high point for the skilful teenager was his match wining substitute appearance against Red Star Belgrade in the group stage of this season’s Uefa Cup, where he set-up one and scored the winner himself.

Kroos is seen as one of the hottest prospects in European, let-alone German football so Bayern fans will be delighted that his long-term future has been secured by the club.
